Take the Stress Out of Summer Travel with CBD

Summer may be halfway behind us, but it’s far from over! There’s still plenty of time to enjoy it, whether it’s from the comfort of your backyard or miles from home.

But for many of us, traveling can feel a little unfamiliar after the year of social distancing. It’s understandable that some of us feel more than a little stressed.

Fortunately, amazing CBD products are here to help you beat your stress and the heat.

Without further ado, here’s how to take the stress out of summer travel with CBD!

Know the TSA Rules for CBD

With quarantines gradually lifting, airports are becoming a little less stressful. But let’s be honest: airports have always been stressful.

The last thing you want is for your CBD oil to be confiscated by the Transportation Security Administration and potentially miss your flight because of it!

So if you’re planning on taking any CBD products, whether it’s tasty gummies or pleasant honey sticks, make sure you’re familiar with TSA’s guidelines regarding them.

According to the TSA’s website, “Marijuana and certain cannabis infused products, including some Cannabidiol (CBD) oil, remain illegal under federal law except for products that contain no more than 0.3 percent THC on a dry weight basis or that are approved by FDA.”

In other words, CBD merchandise is permitted on domestic flights, as long as the product contains less than 0.3% THC. It is best to pack your CBD in compliance with the TSA’s guidelines.

If you’re packing a CBD oil in your carry-on, make sure to treat it like any liquid, and make sure it’s in a container that’s less than 3.4 ounces. Keep it in a quart-sized bag. It’s also a good idea to bring the paperwork stating that your CBD is in compliance with federal guidelines.

If you’re still uncertain about bringing CBD on your flight, call your airline or check their website about any specific rules they have in place.

Work Out With CBD to Destress

Summer may be in full swing, but that doesn’t mean the gym is closed. If anything, most people workout more often in the summer, even when they’re on vacation!

If you’re planning to get some exercise on the road, consider taking a little CBD beforehand to boost your energy level. Plus, CBD’s anti-inflammatory benefits can potentially give your muscles a little extra protection from possible wear and tear. When you stretch after your workout, consider giving your muscles and joints some love with amazing CBD topicals, like soothing relief cream or a cooling roll-on.

Curb Road Trip Nausea With CBD

If you’re hitting the road this summer, you don’t want carsickness to get in the way of your travels. Fortunately, the top CBD oil for sale may offer some quick relief.

According to preclinical research, cannabinoids such as CBD may be effective for treating nausea and vomiting. While this hasn’t been observed in the context of motion sickness, it has been detected in patients undergoing chemotherapy, which is notorious for causing nausea.

If you bring your dog along for the ride, there’s even CBD for pets that can curb carsickness for them as well! Fantastic CBD oil has indicated benefits for cats and dogs with anxiety, which may also help ease nausea associated with car rides. Just make sure to give the CBD to your pets before you take off, or anxiety can begin to escalate.

Try Some CBD Mocktails

Who doesn’t love enjoying a good drink in the middle of a summer afternoon?

Summery cocktails with just a bit of sweetness can be extremely refreshing in the heat. But sometimes it’s good to cut back, whatever the reason may be for the individual.

And let’s be real: it’s kind of a bummer to be that person at the party sipping a sparkling water or lemonade. That’s where CBD mocktails come in!

CBD can easily be added to any cocktail. A non-alcoholic mocktail is a pleasant alternative for those who’d rather stay sober, but still want to relax.

Here are some of our favorite CBD mocktail recipes:

  2. Meanwhile, place 2 glasses in the freezer to chill and fill a cocktail shaker with ice, about halfway. Add the rosemary, lemon juice, CBD oil, and the lavender simple syrup. Close the shaker and shake for about 60 seconds.
  3. Strain the mixture into the 2 glasses and top with sparkling water.
  4. Garnish with the lemon peels and enjoy!

  2. Fill your glass to the top with ice
  3. Add the cucumber slices to the glass, followed by the CBD oil and sweetener
  4. Fill the rest of the glass with sparkling water and stir
  5. Enjoy!

CBD Blackberry Lemon Cocktail

INGREDIENTS (yields 1)

  • 1 oz of blackberry syrup (or alternatively, elderberry syrup)
  • ½ oz lemon juice
  • ¼ oz lemon zest
  • CBD oil (dose to your preference)
  • 1 can lemon sparkling water
  • 1/2 cup of ice
  • 1 rosemary sprig (for garnishing)

ASSEMBLY

  1. Add the blackberry syrup, lemon juice, lemon zest, and CBD oil over ice.
  2. Top off with lemon sparkling water
  3. Add the rosemary sprig and enjoy!

Add the three top ingredients in a glass over ice, and top off with the fizzy LaCroix to mix them together. Add the rosemary sprig and lemon zest on the top for a little extra flavor!

How to Use CBD Cream

How to use CBD Cream

In a rapidly growing CBD market, there seems to be a new product every day. In fact, there might just be one out there for you!

But no matter how perfect a CBD cream might be, it means nothing if you don’t know how to use it.

Let’s talk about some of the major aspects about CBD cream: how it works, what to look for when buying one, how to determine your dosage, and how to apply it.

By the end of this guide, you’ll see how simple and straightforward it is to use CBD cream.

How Does CBD Cream Work?

While the CBD in topicals is the same type of CBD you’ll see across the market, CBD creams do work a bit differently than edibles and vapes.

Rubbing CBD cream directly to skin causes it to quickly interact with the cannabinoid receptors in the skin.

The best CBD cream for sale has many nutrients, like vitamins, minerals and protein to help repair damaged skin. Who wouldn’t prefer nice and tight skin that is soft and smooth?

What to Look for in CBD Cream

When shopping for the best CBD cream for you, your criteria should be a lot like when you look for CBD Gummies. Make sure that the company can tell you exactly where their CBD comes from, and how much THC is in the product.

Also check for third-party lab testing, as its now considered a standard for CBD companies. Quality assurance is entirely the CBD store’s responsibility.

In the case of CBD creams, like all hemp-derived merchandise, confirm it has all natural ingredients, like aloe vera and lavender. If you’re known to have sensitive skin, look for any ingredients that may cause irritation.

How to Dose CBD Cream

Presently, CBD cream is one of the most difficult CBD products to gauge the dosage of, since it’s difficult to figure out the exact amount of cream you’re applying each time.

At the same time, every person’s system is different. What may be fantastic for a person’s skin may not have any benefits for another individual.

While reading CBD creams’ product labels is always a good idea, users can safely choose their dosages with a little trial and error. As with all CBD products, start with a low dosage and work your way up. There’s no need to build a tolerance too quickly.

Using CBD Cream

Overall, CBD cream is easy to apply, especially compared to other CBD topicals, such as balms and ointments, which leave a thicker residue.

To use your CBD cream, simply apply it as you would any other lotion: gather a small amount with clean hands, and gently massage into the area where you want the CBD to be absorbed. Do not apply a CBD topical to broken skin, and keep away from your eyes, as well as your mouth.

What is CBD Cream Used For?

What is CBD Cream used for?

These days, a high quality CBD lotion comes with plenty of benefits, such as alleviating dried out and itchy skin. A CBD topical is any cream, lotion, or salve that is infused with cannabidiol and can be applied directly to the skin.

As the world of CBD has expanded, it’s safe to say you can find CBD cream well beyond the specialty shop. These days, the top CBD cream can be found in grocery aisles, skincare stores, and fitness lines.

But what is CBD cream used for?

Though research is still in its infancy, CBD lotion for sale may have the potential to to get rid of soreness and achy skin. Here are three common conditions in which CBD cream may be helpful.

The Benefits of CBD Cream

Relying on high quality CBD lotion has numerous advantages. To begin, the best topical CBD available is known to efficiently soothe a user’s skin. Some are odorless, while plenty of CBD items have mild hints of pleasant scents, like mint.

The best CBD cream on the market quickly penetrates users’ skin. The CBD then interacts with the CB2 receptors found in the muscles. As a direct result, physical and emotional tension can be put at ease for 5 or 6 hours at a time.

How to Apply CBD Lotion

Due to its minor effects, CBD cream is ideal for men and women, whether they are experienced cannabidiol users or first timers.

Using a CBD topical couldn’t be any easier. Whether it’s just a little bit or a generous amount, a person should apply some of the CBD product every day. Maybe even make it part of your routine after getting out of the shower. That way, folks never have to fear soap washing away the multiple benefits of the best CBD cream.

Always try to avoid placing any type of topical in your eyes or mouth. After all, facial tissue is not nearly as thick and durable as the skin covering the rest of our bodies. Fortunately, the top CBD lotion can be superb for nourishing the rest of our bodies.

How CBD Lotion Will Affect Me

Hemp derived cannabidiol products, including all CBD topicals, do not contain enough THC to give a user any type of euphoric high.

At the same time, the top CBD creams are known to quickly rejuvenate a user’s sensitive skin. For instance, the texture often becomes soft and smooth, as well as firm and elastic. Even an individual’s complexion often grows brighter with a favorable CBD topical

How Does CBD Cream Work?

CBD body lotion has a reputation for quickly soothing the skin, putting dry and sore body parts at ease.

The right CBD cream penetrates the skin and connects to the CB2 receptors found in the muscles to soothe sore muscles and tender joints are relieved. At the same time, dry and itchy skin gets fully moisturized by all natural ingredients, including organic hemp oil, aloe vera, vitamins and minerals.

When you want refreshing skin that looks and feels completely hydrated, look no further than CBD topicals.

How to Use CBD Oil

How to Use CBD Oil

So, you’ve gotten yourself acquainted with CBD and its benefits, and by now, it just might sound like something you can use in your everyday life.

And indeed, this is very possible! CBD oil is an incredibly flexible product with plenty of uses, and when it comes to products, there are endless options at your fingertips.

Though, while CBD oil is one of the more straightforward CBD products, it can still feel daunting for the beginner, leaving them wondering: how do I use CBD oil? How do I decide my dosage? What’s the best way to take CBD oil?

If you’re feeling a little lost, we’re here to help you cover the basics.

In this guide, we’ll go over how to use CBD oil, from determining dosage, to how to administer it, and how to know if it’s working for your needs.

Determine Your Dosage

When it comes to learning how to use CBD oil, dosage is the topic that comes up most.

Newcomers often ask us: how much CBD should I take? And it’s perfectly normal to ask this, as it plays such an important role in how your CBD oil performs.

However, CBD is not a one-size-fits-all type of substance, so when it comes to dosage, there’s no automatic answer to this question.

When determining the right dosage for your CBD oil, it’s going to come down to a number of key factors, including, but not limited to:

  • Body weight
  • Why you’re taking CBD oil
  • Metabolism

To put it simply, a lot of different factors go into determining the right dosage of CBD oil for your own unique needs.

Because of this, your best bet at getting an accurate dosage is by consulting a physician. They’re going to be able to tell you how much to use based on your body chemistry, composition, and reason for taking it. And perhaps more importantly, they’ll be able to tell you if CBD oil is going to interact with any medications you’re currently taking.

However, if you don’t have a recommendation from a doctor, you can still determine your dosage with CBD oil on your own. In this case, however, it may take more time, and more trial and error.

The golden rule with trying CBD oil is to start with a low dosage, and work your way up from there, typically at a range of 10-25 mg per day. This might sound extremely low, but there’s always a chance you can be especially susceptible to CBD, and this also gives you room to increase as needed.

Finding the Best CBD Oil Method

Once you’ve determined your dosage, the trickiest part is done.

Now, when it comes to figuring out how to take CBD, this is more about preference and lifestyle.

Because the thing about CBD oil is that it’s incredibly versatile. That being said, the easiest way to take CBD oil is by taking it sublingually, or under the tongue.

In order to take CBD oil sublingually, simply place a few drops under the tongue, and let it sit for about 30 seconds to let it absorb.

While this is certainly a straightforward method, it is by no means the only one!

CBD oil can also be used as an addition to food and drink, and this is really where you can have fun with CBD. With CBD oil, consumers can make their own edibles, but you don’t have to break out the mixing bowl to make your own CBD treat. One of the easiest ways to make a “CBD edible” is to add it to fat-based substances like nut butters, oils, and dairy products.

If you’re unsure of the method to choose, consider when you want to take your CBD. If you plan on just taking it at the beginning of the day, or before bed, the sublingual method should work just fine. But if you think you’re going to need CBD when you’re at work, and don’t want to draw attention with the bottle and dropper, you can easily add it to your lunch, your coffee, or even your very own CBD gummy recipe.

Observe the Way it Works

Finally, it’s important to observe how your CBD oil is working for you.

We strongly encourage you to keep a journal, file, or notes app for your CBD oil use, and take note of the time in which you’re taking your CBD, as well as the dosage. Observe how CBD makes you feel throughout the day, and how it may influence your use in the wrong one.

While it may feel like a chore initially, it can make a huge difference in tracking the short-term and long-term effects, and how to adjust accordingly.

What is CBD Oil?

What is CBD Oil?

What is CBD Oil?

While it’s been a few years now since its debut, CBD oil has continued to make quite the splash in the wellness world.

While it was once available in specialty stores, CBD oil can now be found in the beauty aisle, spas, and even ice cream shops!

Yet, for many individuals, CBD continues to be a mystery.

But don’t worry, because we’re going to clear it all up here!

To put it simply, CBD oil is CBD suspended in a carrier oil.

But what is CBD?

Short for cannabidiol, CBD is a type of organic compound known as a cannabinoid, and this is actually one of the hundreds of cannabinoids found in cannabis plants, along with tetrahydrocannabinol (THC).

And you may be wondering: can CBD get me high?

While CBD and THC are related to each other, CBD won’t make you high, as it doesn’t contain the same psychoactive properties.

However, CBD oil offers a lot of appeal to many individuals.

Why Use CBD Oil?

So why is CBD oil so popular?

CBD oil is enjoyed by customers for a number of reasons, but pain management is easily the most popular. However, this is not without some controversy.

While there is currently no research confirming that CBD oil can effectively relieve pain, the theory is that CBD interacts with a series of receptors in our body known as the endocannabinoid system. The endocannabinoid system plays an important role in managing functions like stress, appetite, sleep, and pain management, and sends signals through cannabinoids.

Because CBD is a cannabinoid, it’s believed that it can make these functions more efficient, thus helping with pain relief. And while some studies have shown that this theory holds potential, there’s been a lack of control groups, and placebo effects have not been completely ruled out.

Similarly, individuals seek out CBD for better sleep, anxiety relief, and improved focus, but again, most evidence is anecdotal, and there is currently not enough research backing these claims.

Side Effects of CBD Oil

Based on current research, CBD is safe, and most people tolerate it just fine. But as with any substance, CBD may trigger an adverse reaction in some individuals, leading to certain side effects such as dry mouth, changes in appetite, fatigue, and diarrhea.

It should also be noted that while one study suggests that CBD can cause liver damage, this study involved force-feeding rats extremely high doses of concentrated CBD.

And in the case of those taking certain medications, CBD may also create adverse interactions. Particularly, CBD can interfere with drugs that cause sleepiness, such as benxodiazepines, antidepressants, antipsychotics, antidepressants, antihistamines, and opioids. If you’re on any kind of medication and are considering taking CBD oil, always consult a physician beforehand.

CBD Oil vs Other CBD Products

So, CBD oil is one way you can consume CBD, but there are in fact many other forms this product can take, including gummies, capsules, vapes, and topical creams.

What sets CBD oil apart from other CBD products?

CBD oil is a relatively simple way to consume CBD, which makes it incredibly straightforward. CBD oils typically come with a dropper, making it easy to measure out your CBD dosage. And thanks to the stable nature of oils, these CBD products are easy to add to your favorite snack or beverage, though it’s even easier to take it under the tongue.

Moreover, because of CBD oil’s simple nature, they are arguably one of the most accessible and easy to find CBD products around. And while CBD oils are beginner-friendly, they make a great staple for even the most experienced CBD users; especially those seeking to make their own CBD edibles.

If you’re new to CBD, CBD oils can make a great first-time product.

How to Make CBD Oil

How to make CBD Oil?

CBD’s gained great fame as a mild, easy to use product with a ton of uses. But did you know you can actually make your own?

Keep reading to find out how!

How CBD Oil is Made

While CBD seems like a hot new product, its plant source, hemp, has actually been used for centuries. On top of its value as an industrial material, it’s been long known for its medicinal uses.

In the case of CBD oil, large-scale production has evolved into an art and a science. When CBD oil is made by a reputable company, it undergoes extraction.

Depending on the company, there are a few different methods for this.

Solvent extraction is known as the cheapest, which typically involves a low-grade alcohol like isopropyl or ethanol. However, this method is not a favorite, as it’s quite dangerous, and doesn’t yield a very potent product.

Meanwhile, there is also CO2 extraction, which involves the use of liquid carbon dioxide to extract CBD from a tank, where it’s then carried into a collection vessel. Keep in mind that this is a very simple explanation of the process, and it can actually become quite complicated and expensive. However, this is widely considered the safest, cleanest, and most potent way to create CBD oil.

Then, there’s the oil extraction method, and it’s actually a method you can do at home with basic kitchen equipment!

How to Make CBD Oil at Home

Making your own CBD oil at home is more doable than you might think! Basically, this involves two steps: decarboxylating your hemp, and infusing it into the carrier oil.

Now, while these two methods might sound complex, decarboxylating is simply activating the CBD in hemp with heat, which we’ll go more into detail below.

As for infusion, this means taking that hemp once it’s been activated, covering it with the oil, and adding heat.

In order to complete these two methods, all you really need is an oven and a slow cooker, so what are you waiting for? Making your own CBD oil makes a great little afternoon activity with a product you can enjoy.

What You’ll Need

In order to make your own CBD oil, you really only need two ingredients: hemp flowers and a carrier oil. Hemp flowers are going to be your CBD source, and as long as they’re legal within your state, they can be easily acquired online from a reputable source.

As for your carrier oil, think of it as the “vehicle” for your CBD. It’s what’s going to store and suspend the CBD, and different oils can affect the way your CBD is consumed. For instance, coconut oil contains MCTs, or “medium-chain triglycerides,” which are known to quickly and efficiently convert in the digestive system.

That being said, choose the best option for you! Other carrier oils include hemp seed oil, avocado oil, pomegranate seed oil, and sunflower oil.

How to Activate Your CBD

When making your own CBD oil, it’s crucial that before anything else, you activate the CBD in your hemp. This is because the cannabinoids in hemp aren’t automatically bioavailable, and they need to be activated through heat. This process is known as decarboxylation, and while it may sound like something complicated, it’s actually simpler than you might think.

The most important thing about decarboxylation, though, is that you apply low heat over a long period of time. For this reason, most individuals bake their hemp flowers in a slow cooker, or in the oven at about 220℉ for 45-60 minutes.

And for those with an interest in really getting into CBD oils, a precision cooker may be a wise investment, as this will yield greater consistency over multiple batches.

CBD Oil Recipe

  • 7 grams high-cbd hemp flower
  • 1 cup carrier oil of choice

Instructions

  1. Grind your hemp flower and evenly spread it on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper, and place it in the oven. Bake the hemp at 220℉ for 45-60 minutes to activate the CBD.
  2. Once the hemp flowers have been decarbed, place the flowers in a slow cooker and cover with the oil. Turn your slow cooker to its lowest setting and cook for 3 hours, and allow the oil to cool for 8 hours.
  3. Strain the mixture through a mesh strainer or cheesecloth and store in a clean glass jar. When stored in a cool, dry place, this oil should last about 2 months.

Full-Spectrum CBD Gummies vs CBD Isolate Gummies: What’s the Difference?

Full Spectrum CBD Gummies vs CBD isolate Gummies: What's the Difference?

Cannabidiol, or CBD, has gained massive popularity over the past few years. CBD gummies are blowing up in an ever-growing market, and garner tons of favor for folks who don’t want the THC potency that comes with cannabis. And with the potential benefits that CBD may offer, there’s even more room for the market to grow, and that means more options for consumers like you.

But sometimes, options can be overwhelming, especially for those who are new to CBD. And we’re often asked: what’s the difference between full-spectrum CBD and CBD isolate?

Don’t worry, we’re going to break down the differences here, and how each of these products have their own benefits.

Key Differences Between CBD Isolate and Full-Spectrum CBD

Generally speaking, the differences between CBD isolate and full-spectrum CBD lie in the contents. CBD isolate is simply CBD and nothing else, which has been extracted and isolated from hemp to be added to gummies.

Meanwhile, full-spectrum CBD gummies contain not only CBD, but all other components found in hemp–that is to say, it presents the “full spectrum” of hemp’s cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids.

And this leads to another common question: Does this include THC?

Yes, but not very much.

In order for CBD products to be legal, they cannot possess more that .3% THC, which isn’t enough to create any kind of psychoactive effect on the average person.

That being said, there are plenty of individuals who avoid full-spectrum for this very reason, but there are benefits that many others enjoy, which we’ll discuss in greater detail below.

Full-Spectrum CBD Gummies

So what are the benefits behind full-spectrum CBD gummies?

Many consumers choose full-spectrum because of the entourage effect, which refers to the synergistic connection between all of the components found in hemp. And while the information gathered remains inconclusive, it’s believed that the entourage effect may hone the effects of CBD.

Some research also suggests that when CBD products contain multiple compounds, it may help ease a series of ailments. For instance, one 2018 study suggests that several specific compounds found in hemp may possess neuroprotective benefits, while a review published by the British Journal of Pharmacology in 2011 found that when terpenes are present, CBD products may be more effective for factors such as anxiety, inflammation, and seizures.

With that being said, there is still not enough evidence to officially recognize CBD as a treatment or medication for any such disease or ailment, and you should always consult a physician for the best course of action.

Why Choose CBD Isolate?

So, if CBD isolate doesn’t create the entourage effect, then why choose it?

First, it should be made clear that full-spectrum CBD has no guarantee of creating the entourage effect. On top of that, CBD isolate certainly has its own benefits, as well.

CBD isolate has a particular appeal for those who want zero THC. While full-spectrum CBD gummies should contain no more than .3% THC, there are some individuals with a high sensitivity to it. On top of that, there is a chance that the trace THC in full-spectrum CBD gummies may result in a positive drug test. But with CBD isolate gummies, there’s no THC, just CBD.

And because CBD isolate is CBD in its purest form, it can make a great introduction for those new to CBD. And what’s more, CBD isolate tends to be more affordable than full-spectrum CBD.

A Word on Broad-Spectrum CBD Gummies

On the subject of full-spectrum and CBD isolate gummies, it makes sense to wonder if there’s an in-between product.

And in fact, there is, and it’s called broad-spectrum CBD.

Similar to full-spectrum CBD gummies, broad spectrum gummies contain all of the components naturally found in hemp. However, broad spectrum CBD products contain less than 0.3% THC, or none at all.

Broad-spectrum CBD gummies may present a happy medium for those who want the potential benefits of full-spectrum, without the THC, though there is no guarantee or strong evidence.

Full-Spectrum vs CBD Isolate Gummies: Which One is Best for You?

Still can’t decide which is best for you?

Let’s break them down:

Full-spectrum CBD gummies may be best for those who want the entourage effect, don’t have a sensitivity to THC, and enjoy a slightly earthy, herbaceous flavor profile.

CBD isolate gummies, however, may be best for those who want their gummies to taste like gummies, without the slight bitterness you get with full-spectrum. CBD isolate gummies are also ideal for those new to CBD, and for those who may be taking a more sensitive drug test.

Whatever type of CBD you choose, though, make sure you’re shopping from a reputable company that offers transparency and quality.

How to Choose the Right CBD Gummies for You

How to Choose the Right CBD Gummies for You
How to Choose the Right CBD Gummies for You

It’s no secret that CBD’s only grown in popularity over the last year, but in all the ways you can consume them, gummies are among the most popular.

Gummies are among the most convenient and discreet ways to get your daily dose of CBD, but more than that, they’re actually fun! With a slight chew and a sweet-to-tart taste, gummies nullify the bitterness that sometimes accompanies CBD. And with its ease of use and unassuming appearance, gummies turn your CBD break into a tasty treat—any time, anywhere.

However, with a growing market, there are countless options to choose from. And while this can very much be a good thing, it’s important to know that not all of them are worth your money, which makes it crucial that you do your due diligence when seeking out quality gummies.

Choosing Reputable Brands

In such a vastly growing market, every brand is going to claim that their CBD is the best, when in reality, so many have a deep lack of quality, transparency, or customer service.

So how do you recognize a reputable brand?

Online presence is going to be especially telling; are the site’s product reviews up to date? Is anyone else recommending them? Are they active on social media?

Check out reviews on other sites as well, and take a look at customer reviews across third-party sources.

The information a site puts out can also say a lot about its reputability, because when they employ good methods, they’re going to want to brag about it! But when a company says very little on their “about us” page, you can safely assume that they’re either being lazy, or simply have little to talk about.

But now, let’s dive a little deeper, and take a closer look at some of the major factors in determining a solid CBD gummy brand.

CBD Sourcing

Probably above all, the sourcing of the gummy brand’s CBD is a thing to look for, and what type of CBD is being used.

And sourcing is going to say a lot about the CBD, because like all plants, cannabis is deeply affected by climate and soil conditions. It’s been widely observed that the best hemp comes from North America, where conditions are most ideal, and will result in a better concentration of CBD. On top of that, make sure to choose a brand that sources from pesticide-free farms.

Ingredients

While quality CBD matters, it’s not going to be so significant if the rest of a gummy’s ingredients are sub-par.

Many brands will load their CBD gummies with dyes and chemicals, but there are plenty more that offer options with good ingredients that’ll make your gummies extra tasty. Plus, there are plenty of vegan and gluten-free options as well.

When choosing the right CBD gummies for you, take some time to research the ingredients that’ll be best for your diet, and keep an eye out for the brands that utilize them. Likewise, just avoid the CBD gummy brands that fail to even list their ingredients.

Clear THC Labeling

CBD and THC are both found in hemp, and while they’re relatives, they share one big difference: THC is psychoactive and can cause a state of euphoria, or “high,” while CBD will not have this effect.

CBD is typically either sold in three forms: full spectrum, which means it contains all cannabinoids, including some THC, broad spectrum, which uses all cannabinoids except for THC, and CBD isolate, which only includes CBD, period.

All forms of CBD have their own different benefits, but it’s important that a company clarifies which one they use for the CBD gummies. And while almost all CBD on the market comes from hemp, check that the brand states whether their CBD comes from hemp or marijuana, and make sure that if there is THC in the gummies, that they clearly state how much.

Independent Lab Testing

While there are no government regulations placed to guarantee the efficacy of CBD gummies, companies can prove the quality of their products through third-party lab testing.

And big emphasis on “third-party,” because this ensures that the products have been tested on an unbiased basis. These tests should be easily accessible, and include testing for contaminants like pesticides, molds, and heavy metals, along with the CBD and THC levels.

Additionally, stay away from companies that make bold claims about their CBD gummies. Companies should never make medical or health-related claims about CBD, as they do not have the grounds, and there is currently no evidence to back them up.

Our Commitment to Responsibility

At JustCBD, it’s our mission to help our audience find the best CBD products available on the market, while offering the utmost transparency for our own products.

And this doesn’t just apply to CBD gummies; with a line ranging from honey sticks, to tinctures, to bath bombs, we strive to have something for everyone.

CBD Gummies: What’s My Perfect Dosage?

CBD Gummies What's My Perfect Dosage
CBD Gummies What's My Perfect Dosage

Chewy, sweet, and with a hint of nostalgia, it’s no secret that CBD gummies are among some of the most popular products in the industry.

And while it may be tempting to eat them up one by one, this is almost never recommended.

When it comes to getting the most out of CBD gummies, it’s all about determining your dosage.

What are CBD Gummies?

Gummies may very well be one the easiest, most convenient ways to take CBD. As a sweet, chewy treat, gummies turn your CBD into a tasty little snack, unlike CBD drops or capsules.

And due to their unassuming appearance, they’re ideal for those who want a bit of discretion with their CBD. And of course, gummies are incredibly straightforward with their dosages. While oils need a specifically-marked dropper, gummies are typically dosed individually, often at 10, 15, 20, or 25 mg per gummy.

As a result, you can simply pop one in your mouth without the guesswork.

Plus, portioning is easy, too: simply have more gummies for a higher dose, or you can even cut them into smaller pieces if you need to lower your dosage.

That being said, this still leaves it up to the consumer to determine the dosage that’ll work for them.

How Many CBD Gummies Should I Take?

It’s a common question: How many CBD gummies should I take?

But unfortunately, there is no common answer. That is to say, the ideal CBD dosage is going to be different for everyone, and this is just as much the case with gummies.

Why is Dosage So Tricky?

If you’ve spent any amount of time researching CBD, you’ve likely noticed by now that dosage can be tricky, and  this is because it comes down to a number of factors about the individual, including body weight, body chemistry, reason for taking CBD, and desired potency.

But even this criteria isn’t always enough to determine an accurate dosage. When in doubt, stay open-minded about adjusting as needed, and consult your physician about for a more accurate determination.

How to Dose CBD Gummies

For those determining their own dosages at home, here a a few key factors to consider:

Weight

As a general rule of thumb, those with a higher weight will need a higher dosage, and vice versa.

Do you have that 10 stone friend who gets hammered after 3 beers? Perhaps you are that friend. But in either case, you know what we mean by the term “lightweight.”

While variation is always possible, weight tends to be a significant factor with the dosing of CBD gummies, and it can help determine your starting dosage:

Below 10 stone – 15 mg or less

10-16 stone – 20 mg or less

Above 16 stone – 25 mg or less

Reason for Taking CBD Gummies

The reason you’re taking CBD can make a big impact on the dosage you’re choosing (see below), as this is going to indicate the type of effect you’re looking for.

It’s not a perfect science, but generally, those who take CBD for the purpose of pain relief or relaxation, a higher dose is recommended, while a lower dose may be more suited for those who need to focus.

Desired Potency

Sometimes, this factor can be confusing to individuals. Isn’t potency what I’m trying to figure out here?

But here’s the thing: there’s a difference between the potency and the dosage.

While the dosage is the exact amount of milligrams, potency is more about the extent to which the CBD gummies affect you.

For those looking for moderate effects from their CBD, the weight-based recommendations above are a good starting point.

However, those looking for strong effects may want to dose accordingly:

-Below 10 stone – 16-18 mg

-10-16 stone – 25-28 mg

-above 16 stone – 30-45 mg

What if My CBD Gummies Dosage Isn’t Affecting Me?

Finally, this is another quotation that’s quite common: this CBD isn’t working for me! What do I do?

CBD dosing can be tricky, but that may not be the only thing at play.

Before raising your dosage, try giving the CBD a little bit of time, as it can take around a month in some cases for CBD to stimulate the endocannabinoid system, while many others may feel the effects right away.

And while you experiment with different CBD dosages, it can be especially helpful to keep track as you go along.

If you really feel that your CBD dosage isn’t enough, try raising it in small increments.
