CBD + THC Gummies vs. Normal CBD Gummies: Which One Should You Buy?

CBD + THC Gummies vs Normal CBD Gummies_ Which One Should You Buy

If you’ve spent any amount of time looking at CBD products, you’ve probably seen your fair share of CBD gummies.

Of course, it’s easy to see why: they hold appeal not only for CBD enthusiasts, for anyone with a sweet tooth!

Though CBD gummies are still as popular as ever, there’s a new tasty treat entering the market: CBD + THC gummies take all the benefits of CBD, and combine it with a small amount of THC.

Yet with all the excitement that comes with new things, there’s a chance it’s left you a little overwhelmed.

So which gummies should you buy, then: traditional CBD gummies, or CBD + THC gummies?

Before you buy, here’s what you need to know.

First of All, What Are CBD Gummies?

At this point, you may be fairly familiar with CBD gummies, but if you haven’t, this quick summary should help!

CBD gummies are a tasty treat infused with CBD, typically available in a wide variety of flavors and shapes.

CBD gummies give users the benefit of not only taste, but also discretion and easy measuring, and they can be made to fit into tons of dietary restrictions with vegan and sugar-free options.

CBD + THC gummies, meanwhile, aren’t too much of a stretch: they’re tasty, chewy gummies infused with not only CBD, but THC, as well. And with the increasing popularity of delta-8 and delta-10 THC, they’re becoming more common in CBD + THC gummies.

What’s the Difference Between CBD and THC?

CBD and THC are both part of the same group of compounds, known as cannabinoids, and they make up a pretty big family. In fact, it’s estimated that there are at least 113 different types found in cannabis alone!

CBD’s really had the spotlight for the past few years, but THC has an exceptionally long history, due to its recreational and medicinal usage.

And while these cannabinoids have a lot in common, they share a few key differences, as well, including the following:

Chemical Structure

The chemical structure of CBD and THC is virtually the same, with 21 carbon atoms, 30 hydrogen atoms, and 2 oxygen atoms. The difference, however, is in the arrangement of the atoms, which creates the different effects in the body.

CBD and THC take effect in the endocannabinoid system (ECS), which maintains homeostasis in the body through cannabinoids. When CBD and THC enter the body, they interact with the cannabinoid receptors, causing neurotransmitters to release in the brain.

Psychoactive Effects

While the chemical structure of CBD and THC are fairly similar, their psychoactive effects are quite different.

“THC is especially known for its ability to get the user high by binding to CB1 receptors in the brain, creating a rush of euphoria. And while CBD doesn’t have this same effect, there’s a misconception that it’s not psychoactive. And to be clear, CBD is psychoactive, but not in the same way as THC” Jose J Ortiz explains whos is expert in the field of CBD and THC who has been working as Pharmaceutical Industry for 34 years.

While CBD won’t create the same kind of high that’s characteristic of THC, it’s been shown to help manage cognitive functions related to depression, anxiety, and seizures.

Legal Status

When it comes to cannabis, laws in the United States are constantly evolving.

With the Farm Bill’s signing in 2018, hemp has since been made federally legal, and all hemp products (like CBD gummies) can legally be manufactured, bought, and sold as long as they contain less than 0.3% delta-9 THC.

Delta-9 THC is still heavily controlled in the United States, and has bans in several states. Delta-8 and delta-10, however, are isomers of THC with similar effects. And while the laws are somewhat vague, manufacturers have interpreted that delta-8 and delta-10 are legal, as long as they’re in a state that doesn’t place specific bans.

Benefits

While the benefits for both CBD and THC are still being researched, it’s often agreed that they have similar benefits, and may be used to help manage many of the same conditions.

Typically though, CBD is most often sought out by customers for chronic pain, inflammation, seizures, anxiety, and depression, while THC is often used for pain, anxiety, insomnia, and low appetite.

What Happens When You Combine THC and CBD?

In many cases, sticking with CBD on its own may be the best option for the individual, but it’s becoming increasingly popular to use it combined with THC, as well.

There is some research suggesting that taking CBD with THC, as well as other compounds from the plant like terpenes and flavonoids, may be more beneficial than taking CBD alone, and this is all because of the entourage effect.

The entourage effect refers to the theory that all the different compounds in cannabis work together in harmony, creating a unique type of synergy with amplified effects.

For example, combining CBD and THC may help reduce side effects often caused by THC, like anxiety, and THC’s psychoactive effects are slightly lowered. It’s also been suggested that when combined, CBD and THC sedative effects are increased, creating an even more relaxing experience.

With all of this in mind, it’s worth noting that the entourage effect is still a theory, and more research is still needed for us to understand the extent of its benefits.

Should You Buy CBD Gummies or CBD + THC Gummies?

As CBD + THC gummies become more widely available, it’s understandable to wonder if they’re worth buying, or if they’re actually better than your typical CBD gummies.

And it begs the question: “should I buy CBD + THC gummies, or CBD gummies?”

So what is the correct answer?

Like anything in hemp, it all depends on the user.

When choosing between CBD + THC gummies and CBD gummies, consider the following factors:

Cost

While it’s not always best to go for the cheapest option, cost is still an important factor. And with that in mind, CBD + THC gummies are usually going to be more expensive due to lower supply, but they can still be worth it for many individuals.

Legality in Your State

Of course, legal status is a huge thing to consider when choosing between CBD gummies and CBD + THC gummies—it goes without saying, but it’s important that the gummies you buy are legal where you live!

Thanks to the Farm Bill of 2018, hemp products are legal as long as they’re made from industrial hemp and contain less than 0.3% delta-9 THC. And this allows not only CBD, but delta-8 and delta-10.

While this law’s made it possible for many customers to buy THC in states with marijuana bans, keep in mind that some state lawmakers are catching onto this loophole, and are on the move to change this. That’s why it’s important to double-check the laws in your state.

Reason for Taking Gummies

Cannabinoids have garnered a reputation for being versatile, which is probably why we’re seeing customers buy them for so many reasons. As of 2021, customers have reported taking CBD gummies for a number of purposes like soothing pain, easing stress, and managing anxiety.

While the evidence on their medical benefits are limited, it’s been indicated that CBD and THC may have a more sedative effect when taken together, which may be especially beneficial for those looking to manage pain or stress.

It may take some trial and error when choosing the right gummies for you, but going in with a goal and a little bit of research can make a serious difference in your journey.

CBD Products: Different Types

CBD Products_ Different Types

At this point, it’s safe to say that CBD is not in fact a passing fad, but in fact something that’s here to stay. And this is apparent when we see the ever-expanding breadth of options, from CBD oils, to CBD edibles and well beyond.

When you’re new to CBD, the endless possibilities can be overwhelming, but today, we’re here to give you the break-down on different types of CBD products.

But first, let’s start with the basics, with explaining CBD.

What is CBD?

CBD, or cannabidiol, is a compound found in high concentrations in hemp plants, and unlike delta 9 or delta 8 THC, CBD does not produce any kind of psychoactive high.

When companies manufacture and sell CBD, they do so through a few different extraction methods, which leads to different types of CBD extractions, which includes the following:

  • Full-spectrum: All parts of the cannabis plant are present in these products, including THC, which should still be less than 0.3% of the product. Full-spectrum products contain less than <0.3% THC.
  • Broad-spectrum: Most of the cannabis plant compounds are present, but unlike full-spectrum CBD, broad-spectrum products contain trace amounts of THC.
  • Isolates: CBD is the only hemp-derived compound present, there are no other cannabinoids, terpenes, or flavonoids in the product.

No matter the extraction, Federal law requires that all CBD products contain no more than 0.3% THC, although it’s worth noting that not all states allow CBD, and all customers should check their state’s status before purchasing.

It’s also important to note that the FDA does not regulate any claims of benefits, and individuals should always stick with brands that have their products third-party tested.

CBD Oils & Tinctures

CBD oil is made up of two things: CBD extract from the hemp plant, and a carrier oil like coconut or hemp seed oil, which keeps the CBD extract suspended.

CBD oils are some of the most popular types of CBD product, probably thanks to their straightforward, easy-to-use nature.

No matter where you purchase your CBD oil, you can pretty much always bet that it’s going to be sold in a glass bottle with a little dropper, which should be pre-measured for easy dosing.

On top of that, CBD oils are highly versatile: you can administer a few drops under the tongue, or you can use CBD oil to make your own CBD edibles and beverages.

You can find CBD oils in a wide range of strengths, and at JustCBD, our CBD oils range from 50 to 5000mg.

CBD Edibles

Edibles are, as you might have guessed, an edible form of CBD, often gummies. CBD edibles have been particularly popular as a way to enjoy CBD without getting slowed down by figuring out their dosage.

CBD edibles are also great for those who don’t wish to use vapes, or to inhale the burnt plant matter from smoking blunts or joints.

Plus, CBD edibles can be any kind of food or drink, so as you can imagine, the possibilities are truly endless.

While you can find a wide variety of CBD cakes, cookies, and even cereal, CBD gummies are easily the most popular type of CBD edible. Not only do CBD gummies have a longer shelf life, but they’re tasty, chewy, and easy to keep track of for dosing.

Not to mention the fact that you can find all kinds of different types of CBD gummies; at JustCBD, we offer several different strengths, including 250mg, 500mg, 750mg and 1000mg, as well as our 3000mg Party Pack Jar. Not to mention the fact that we cater to different dietary restrictions, as well, with our vegan and sugar-free options.

CBD Capsules

Once again, CBD capsules are pretty much what you’d expect them to be: CBD, either in an oil or powder form, encapsulated in a digestible casing, usually gelatin or vegetable cellulose.

You’ll probably notice that CBD capsules can be sold in a number of different formulas, each created for certain intentions. For instance, we formulated our CBD for Sleep capsules with MT for a night of exceptional rest, while our Ease Discomfort formula uses Lavender, Rosemary and Arnica for digestion support.

CBD capsules are easy to administer–simply take them with some water, and pay attention to the way your body reacts over the next hour. Typically, it takes about 20-30 minutes for CBD capsules to kick in.

CBD Vapes

At this point, there’s almost no doubt you’ve seen a vape or e-cigarette, which uses water vapors instead of smoke to deliver CBD. As a result, CBD vapes are generally regarded as cleaner and safer than joints, pre-rolls, or blunts, since unlike these examples, they won’t expose your lungs to burnt plant matter.

On top of that, though, CBD vapes are much more discreet, and most users will tell you that they taste much better than smokable flower, especially with flavors like Vanilla Custard Cream and Grape Glacier.

CBD vapes can come as disposables, which offer a lower cost up-front and generally considered more beginner friendly or they can be purchased as either detachable, replaceable carts, which will offer more savings long-term with their long-lasting quality.

CBD Topicals

CBD can be administered or applied in a number of different ways, but if you’re looking for CBD that will target specific aches and pains, or possibly a skin condition, CBD topicals could be a viable option.

CBD topicals come in a ton of different options, including CBD lotion, CBD pain cream, and even CBD bath bombs, which make a lovely addition to any evening of self-care.

With that being said, make sure to do a patch test before trying any type of CBD topical, especially if you have sensitive skin.

Different Types of CBD Products: Which Should I Buy?

Ultimately, the best CBD product for you is going to come down to your own unique needs, and why you’re taking CBD in the first place.

For instance, if you’re using CBD because you’d like to target pain or inflammation in a specific part of your body, it makes sense to use a CBD topical such as a pain cream, since this will affect the local area of application.

But if you’re using CBD because you’d like a way to wind-down without feeling intoxication, CBD edibles or CBD vapes are a great choice, and deciding between the two will depend on your own preferences.

Then, of course, if you only have a moment in your day to take your CBD, a slow-release capsule could be your best bet.

Whatever type of CBD product you choose, make sure to shop from a reputable brand so you can try different things with confidence. At JustCBD, we source our hemp from the best farmers in the country, practice top-of-the-line manufacturing processes, and put all of our products through third-party testing.

How to Save this Season with JustCBD

From vapes to tinctures to bath bombs, it seems as though there’s a new thing every day in the world of CBD, and finding the perfect product may feel a bit overwhelming, especially for beginners.

The CBD market is vast, and while we don’t have time to discuss its entirety today, we can compare two major products head-to-head: CBD oils and CBD capsules.

CBD capsules and CBD oils are among the most popular varieties, noted for their ease of use and straightforward dosing.

But what are the differences between the two, and which one’s right for you?

Today, we’re comparing the two based on their benefits and disadvantages so that you can shop with a more informed understanding.

What Are CBD Oils?

Like JustCBD’s CBD oils, CBD oils are natural CBD products derived from industrial hemp, and they can be made with carrier oils like coconut or hemp.

CBD oil is made by separating the CBD in hemp from the rest of the plant’s compounds. In the case of a CBD isolate, only the CBD is taken, but in the case of a full-spectrum CBD oil, like the one from JustCBD, all of hemp’s naturally occurring compounds are taken, including not only CBD but also hemp’s cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids.

No matter the extract, the result is a potent, pure oil that includes all of CBD’s benefits without any of the psychoactive effects associated with THC.

Benefits of CBD Oils

The core benefit of CBD oils is that they’re easy and fast-acting. With just a few drops under the tongue (the sublingual method), you can expect fast-acting delivery, which might allow the CBD to kick in faster than it might with a CBD capsule.

Additionally, nearly all CBD oils on the market come with a pipette, which allows you to control exactly how much CBD you want, right down to the drop.

Having a dropper also means that you don’t need to worry too much about the CBD content of the bottle itself since your own personal dosage is so easy to adjust.

The use of a dropper comes with an additional benefit: it allows you to add CBD to any of your favorite beverages or foods, which is great for those who don’t love the taste of CBD oil.

And for those who may struggle with a gag reflex, CBD oil is very easy to swallow—no water necessary!

CBD oil is also known to have a higher bioavailability. But what exactly does that mean?

In pharmacology, bioavailability is a substance’s aptitude for dissolving and absorption in the body. And when it comes to CBD, the bioavailability will depend heavily on the product and how it’s consumed.

What Are CBD Capsules?

Now, let’s talk about CBD capsules.

Just as they sound, CBD capsules are small capsules, soft gels, or pills made with CBD oil, and they’re fantastic for taking CBD in a streamlined way.

And while, of course, you can buy plain CBD capsules, they can also come in a wide variety of formulas, including a multivitamin, energy, discomfort, and nighttime.

Benefits of CBD Capsules

It’s nothing new to take a supplement in the form of a capsule, and for a good reason! Capsules are notoriously easy to use, plus they offer the ultimate discretion.

However, CBD capsules might be best known for how they simplify your CBD routine since there’s no guesswork in the dosing. When reading the label, you’ll find that the best CBD capsules will state the specific amount of CBD per capsule, which tends to be more precise than a dropper.

Not to mention that CBD capsules have a slower release, which means you won’t have to keep taking more throughout the day; one dose, and you’re good to go!

CBD capsules are also a lot less messy, especially compared to CBD oils. If you’re traveling with CBD oil in your luggage, there’s always a chance the bottle might crack when jolted around. With capsules, however, there’s no risk of this!

And if you have a hard time with the texture and taste of CBD oil, taking CBD capsules is as easy as swallowing & chasing down with water.

That being said, the one main disadvantage to CBD capsules is that they might take a bit more time to kick in since the capsules need to be dissolved in the stomach first. But if you’re looking for something with a steady release anyway, this might be the preferred way to go.

CBD Capsules vs. CBD Oils: Which One Should I Buy?

CBD oil and CBD capsules are two different ways to take CBD, but they share many benefits in common.

Both CBD capsules and CBD oils feature CBD, which has a unique relationship with your endocannabinoid system (ECS). While research is still in the works, we know that the ECS influences factors like pain, memory, stress, sleep, and more.

With that in mind, the essential difference between CBD oil tinctures and CBD capsules is how they’re delivered & absorbed. While CBD capsules are quick and easy to grab on the go, they take a bit longer than CBD oils to kick in, and while CBD oils kick in fairly quickly, they’re not the most travel-friendly products around.

This is all to say that when it comes to CBD capsules vs. CBD oils, neither is the universal “better” option. What works best for you will be what fits best in your daily routine and what best fits your goals, needs, and preferences.

Take the Stress Out of Summer Travel with CBD

Summer may be halfway behind us, but it’s far from over! There’s still plenty of time to enjoy it, whether it’s from the comfort of your backyard or miles from home.

But for many of us, traveling can feel a little unfamiliar after the year of social distancing. It’s understandable that some of us feel more than a little stressed.

Fortunately, amazing CBD products are here to help you beat your stress and the heat.

Without further ado, here’s how to take the stress out of summer travel with CBD!

Know the TSA Rules for CBD

With quarantines gradually lifting, airports are becoming a little less stressful. But let’s be honest: airports have always been stressful.

The last thing you want is for your CBD oil to be confiscated by the Transportation Security Administration and potentially miss your flight because of it!

So if you’re planning on taking any CBD products, whether it’s tasty gummies or pleasant honey sticks, make sure you’re familiar with TSA’s guidelines regarding them.

According to the TSA’s website, “Marijuana and certain cannabis infused products, including some Cannabidiol (CBD) oil, remain illegal under federal law except for products that contain no more than 0.3 percent THC on a dry weight basis or that are approved by FDA.”

In other words, CBD merchandise is permitted on domestic flights, as long as the product contains less than 0.3% THC. It is best to pack your CBD in compliance with the TSA’s guidelines.

If you’re packing a CBD oil in your carry-on, make sure to treat it like any liquid, and make sure it’s in a container that’s less than 3.4 ounces. Keep it in a quart-sized bag. It’s also a good idea to bring the paperwork stating that your CBD is in compliance with federal guidelines.

If you’re still uncertain about bringing CBD on your flight, call your airline or check their website about any specific rules they have in place.

Work Out With CBD to Destress

Summer may be in full swing, but that doesn’t mean the gym is closed. If anything, most people workout more often in the summer, even when they’re on vacation!

If you’re planning to get some exercise on the road, consider taking a little CBD beforehand to boost your energy level. Plus, CBD’s anti-inflammatory benefits can potentially give your muscles a little extra protection from possible wear and tear. When you stretch after your workout, consider giving your muscles and joints some love with amazing CBD topicals, like soothing relief cream or a cooling roll-on.

Curb Road Trip Nausea With CBD

If you’re hitting the road this summer, you don’t want carsickness to get in the way of your travels. Fortunately, the top CBD oil for sale may offer some quick relief.

According to preclinical research, cannabinoids such as CBD may be effective for treating nausea and vomiting. While this hasn’t been observed in the context of motion sickness, it has been detected in patients undergoing chemotherapy, which is notorious for causing nausea.

If you bring your dog along for the ride, there’s even CBD for pets that can curb carsickness for them as well! Fantastic CBD oil has indicated benefits for cats and dogs with anxiety, which may also help ease nausea associated with car rides. Just make sure to give the CBD to your pets before you take off, or anxiety can begin to escalate.

Try Some CBD Mocktails

Who doesn’t love enjoying a good drink in the middle of a summer afternoon?

Summery cocktails with just a bit of sweetness can be extremely refreshing in the heat. But sometimes it’s good to cut back, whatever the reason may be for the individual.

And let’s be real: it’s kind of a bummer to be that person at the party sipping a sparkling water or lemonade. That’s where CBD mocktails come in!

CBD can easily be added to any cocktail. A non-alcoholic mocktail is a pleasant alternative for those who’d rather stay sober, but still want to relax.

Here are some of our favorite CBD mocktail recipes:

CBD Lavender Lemonade Mocktail

INGREDIENTS (yields 2)

For the lavender simple syrup:

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  1. Prepare the lavender simple syrup: place a small saucepan over medium-high heat and in it, combine water and sugar. Bring to a boil, and then immediately add the lavender. Simmer on low for 3-5 minutes, and remove from heat. Allow the lavender buds to steep for 10 minutes, and strain through a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth before allowing to cool completely.
  2. Meanwhile, place 2 glasses in the freezer to chill and fill a cocktail shaker with ice, about halfway. Add the rosemary, lemon juice, CBD oil, and the lavender simple syrup. Close the shaker and shake for about 60 seconds.
  3. Strain the mixture into the 2 glasses and top with sparkling water.
  4. Garnish with the lemon peels and enjoy!

ASSEMBLY

  1. Place the cubed watermelon in the glass you’ll be using and muddle it with the mint leaves
  2. Fill your glass to the top with ice
  3. Add the cucumber slices to the glass, followed by the CBD oil and sweetener
  4. Fill the rest of the glass with sparkling water and stir
  5. Enjoy!

CBD Blackberry Lemon Cocktail

INGREDIENTS (yields 1)

  • 1 oz of blackberry syrup (or alternatively, elderberry syrup)
  • ½ oz lemon juice
  • ¼ oz lemon zest
  • CBD oil (dose to your preference)
  • 1 can lemon sparkling water
  • 1/2 cup of ice
  • 1 rosemary sprig (for garnishing)

ASSEMBLY

  1. Add the blackberry syrup, lemon juice, lemon zest, and CBD oil over ice.
  2. Top off with lemon sparkling water

Thanks to its ease of use, it’s no surprise that CBD tinctures and oils are true classics.

CBD oils and tinctures can be taken under the tongue, but they can also be added to your favorite snack or beverage. CBD oils are especially wonderful when added to fat-based foods like cheese and nut butters.

Full-Spectrum Oil

Full-spectrum oil goes beyond the benefits of CBD; it also includes all of the cannabinoids found in hemp, including CBG and CBN. This may be beneficial, because full-spectrum CBD is believed to encourage the entourage effect.

As for THC, there is a small amount, but not enough to get the average user high.

  • Iowa
  • Nevada
  • Pennsylvania

CBD Isolate

While full-spectrum CBD should not be enough to get the average user high, there are nonetheless individuals who may find themselves especially sensitive to THC.

In cases such as these, CBD isolate might be the individual’s best bet. When a product is listed as “CBD isolate” this means that the only hemp-derived ingredients in the product are going to be CBD. CBD also runs less of a risk of testing positive on a drug test.

  • Illinois
  • Georgia
  • South Carolina
  • New Jersey

Sugar-Free Gummies

Though CBD gummies are delicious and easy to enjoy, it’s fair to point out that they contain a bit of sugar.

Luckily, we have a sugar free alternative! Our sugar-free gummies are sweetened with maltitol syrup, making them just as delectable as our traditional recipe.

In the US, our sugar-free gummies are especially popular in:

  • Minnesota

How to Choose the Right CBD Gummies for You

How to Choose the Right CBD Gummies for You
How to Choose the Right CBD Gummies for You

It’s no secret that CBD’s only grown in popularity over the last year, but in all the ways you can consume them, gummies are among the most popular.

Gummies are among the most convenient and discreet ways to get your daily dose of CBD, but more than that, they’re actually fun! With a slight chew and a sweet-to-tart taste, gummies nullify the bitterness that sometimes accompanies CBD. And with its ease of use and unassuming appearance, gummies turn your CBD break into a tasty treat—any time, anywhere.

However, with a growing market, there are countless options to choose from. And while this can very much be a good thing, it’s important to know that not all of them are worth your money, which makes it crucial that you do your due diligence when seeking out quality gummies.

Choosing Reputable Brands

In such a vastly growing market, every brand is going to claim that their CBD is the best, when in reality, so many have a deep lack of quality, transparency, or customer service.

So how do you recognize a reputable brand?

Online presence is going to be especially telling; are the site’s product reviews up to date? Is anyone else recommending them? Are they active on social media?

Check out reviews on other sites as well, and take a look at customer reviews across third-party sources.

The information a site puts out can also say a lot about its reputability, because when they employ good methods, they’re going to want to brag about it! But when a company says very little on their “about us” page, you can safely assume that they’re either being lazy, or simply have little to talk about.

But now, let’s dive a little deeper, and take a closer look at some of the major factors in determining a solid CBD gummy brand.

CBD Sourcing

Probably above all, the sourcing of the gummy brand’s CBD is a thing to look for, and what type of CBD is being used.

And sourcing is going to say a lot about the CBD, because like all plants, cannabis is deeply affected by climate and soil conditions. It’s been widely observed that the best hemp comes from North America, where conditions are most ideal, and will result in a better concentration of CBD. On top of that, make sure to choose a brand that sources from pesticide-free farms.

Ingredients

While quality CBD matters, it’s not going to be so significant if the rest of a gummy’s ingredients are sub-par.

Many brands will load their CBD gummies with dyes and chemicals, but there are plenty more that offer options with good ingredients that’ll make your gummies extra tasty. Plus, there are plenty of vegan and gluten-free options as well.

When choosing the right CBD gummies for you, take some time to research the ingredients that’ll be best for your diet, and keep an eye out for the brands that utilize them. Likewise, just avoid the CBD gummy brands that fail to even list their ingredients.

Clear THC Labeling

CBD and THC are both found in hemp, and while they’re relatives, they share one big difference: THC is psychoactive and can cause a state of euphoria, or “high,” while CBD will not have this effect.

CBD is typically either sold in three forms: full spectrum, which means it contains all cannabinoids, including some THC, broad spectrum, which uses all cannabinoids except for THC, and CBD isolate, which only includes CBD, period.

All forms of CBD have their own different benefits, but it’s important that a company clarifies which one they use for the CBD gummies. And while almost all CBD on the market comes from hemp, check that the brand states whether their CBD comes from hemp or marijuana, and make sure that if there is THC in the gummies, that they clearly state how much.

Independent Lab Testing

While there are no government regulations placed to guarantee the efficacy of CBD gummies, companies can prove the quality of their products through third-party lab testing.

And big emphasis on “third-party,” because this ensures that the products have been tested on an unbiased basis. These tests should be easily accessible, and include testing for contaminants like pesticides, molds, and heavy metals, along with the CBD and THC levels.

Additionally, stay away from companies that make bold claims about their CBD gummies. Companies should never make medical or health-related claims about CBD, as they do not have the grounds, and there is currently no evidence to back them up.

Our Commitment to Responsibility

At JustCBD, it’s our mission to help our audience find the best CBD products available on the market, while offering the utmost transparency for our own products.

And this doesn’t just apply to CBD gummies; with a line ranging from honey sticks, to tinctures, to bath bombs, we strive to have something for everyone.

CBD Creams & CBD Pain Cream Users Guide 101

CBD Cream & CBD Pain Cream Ultimate Guide
CBD Cream & CBD Pain Cream Ultimate Guide

Topicals have quickly become one of the most popular ways to enjoy the benefits of CBD

CBD pain cream may be the most effective ways of using CBD for targeting specific points of tension or pain.. and this feature alone offers a lot of appeal.

In today’s video we’re breaking down all of the biggest questions about CBD topicals and pain creams..

What exactly is CBD?

CBD is short for cannabidiol, and it’s a naturally occurring compound that comes from the hemp plant.
CBD is actually one of over a hundred different substances, called cannabinoids, that come from hemp. Compounds like CBG or THC, which all have their own specific advantages. But unlike THC, CBD is not psychoactive.
CBD has its own list of benefits, thanks to the unique ways it interacts with our mind and body.
Take a look at our video on CBD gummies to learn more.
Take a look at some of our other videos to learn more.

What is CBD Pain Cream?

A CBD topical is any cream or lotion that’s infused with CBD and can be applied directly to the skin
Topical cannabis dates back thousands of years, typically in the form of ointments, which have been widely used in traditional medicine for its antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties.
In the modern era, topicals are infused with either CBD isolate or full-spectrum hemp oil, and because of the fatty lipid content of their carrier oils, CBD and hemp extracts do nicely in hydrating topicals with bases like shea butter, cocoa butter, and oils like coconut oil.

Full-Spectrum CBD Pain Cream vs CBD Isolate Pain Cream

As with most CBD products, CBD pain cream can contain either full-spectrum hemp, or CBD isolate.
Full-spectrum hemp products will contain all of hemp’s naturally occurring compounds.. Many consumers enjoy full-spectrum products, because it’s theorized that all of these compounds together will create a synergistic connection known as the entourage effect, which may amplify CBD’s benefits.
However, CBD isolate has its benefits too. Some individuals may prefer to avoid THC completely, especially those who find that they have a heightened sensitivity to THC, even in trace amounts

What’s the Difference Between CBD Cream and CBD Oil?

When distinguishing CBD pain cream from CBD oils or tinctures, the main difference is how they’re used: CBD oil can be taken orally, while CBD pain cream is applied to the skin.
Additionally, CBD oil is typically either CBD isolate or full-spectrum hemp, suspended in a carrier oil, and while CBD oil can be applied topically, it’s not formulated for skin the way CBD pain cream is.
CBD creams tend to have a thick, creamy consistency that’s easy to apply without a greasy residue, and readily absorbs into the skin.

What’s the Difference Between CBD Pain Cream and OtherCBD Topicals?

To be clear, CBD topicals include a wide range of different products, including roll-ons, ointments, and even lip balms. The main way in which all of these products differ lies in their consistency and usage.
There’s very little distinction between ointments and balms aside from their marketed use, but both tend to use fatty agents like waxes, butters, and oils, while incorporating very little water. These are suitable for people with rough, chapped skin that’s been inflamed.
CBD creams, on the other hand, tend to incorporate oils, emulsifying agents, and water for easier absorption and a less greasy consistency.
It gets interesting, though, when we talk about CBD creams for general use, and CBD pain creams.
Creams that use CBD as the main ingredient might not necessarily be for pain relief, as beauty brands are taking notice of the way that CBD can help the skin.
And while these may offer pain relief, CBD pain creams tend to offer far more intense relief.
CBD pain creams are specially formulated to help manage pain that’s set deep into the muscle tissue, making them suitable for those with joint pain, tired, stiff muscles, and stubborn tension.
Typically, CBD pain creams are made with higher concentrations of CBD, which is why they tend to be more expensive, and these formulas typically have other ingredients known for combating pain, such as menthol, arnica, and copaiba.

What Is CBD Pain Cream Good for?

CBD tinctures and edibles are orally ingested, and from there, the CBD is digested and delivered to the bloodstream so it can be absorbed into CB1 and CB2 receptors for a full-body effect.

CBD topicals work differently, though.

When CBD pain cream is applied to the skin, it creates a more local effect. In other words, the CBD is only going to affect the area you apply it to.
This is because the CBD can penetrate the skin and target localized cannabinoid receptors, and doesn’t need to bypass any digestion process.

How do I find the right products for me?

You’ve probably noticed already: there are lots of CBD pain creams to choose from.
But there’s no singular CBD pain cream that will work the best for everyone. Ultimately, it’s about shopping for one that works best for you.
And this is going to depend on a number of factors, and here are a few to consider:

Look for Clear Labels

If you’re going to learn anything at all about a CBD pain cream and how it will help you, you have to know what’s in it.
Check the labelling on CBD cream for the CBD amount, ingredients, and how to use the product. Checking for the type of CBD is important, as well: whether they use full-spectrum or CBD isolate. If any of these things are unclear, the CBD pain cream might not come from the most reliable brand.

Check for a Certificate of Analysis

As with all CBD products, always make sure that the CBD pain cream comes with a certificate of analysis from a third party lab. This is important because while labeling is crucial, it might not always be accurate.
In a certificate of analysis, you’ll get an exact report of the CBD levels in your product, as well as any other compounds, like cannabinoids and terpenes, if the product is full-spectrum

Keep the Ingredients in Mind

We mentioned that CBD pain creams are often distinguished for not just their CBD strengths, but the other ingredients as well.
When scoping out a good CBD pain cream, consider whether you want one with menthol. Menthol creates a noticeable cooling sensation, which will encourage the affected area to gradually warm up. This can work wonders for circulation and easing the muscles, but the intense minty aroma might not appeal to everyone.

How Do I Use CBD Pain Cream?

Compared to most other CBD products, CBD pain cream is pretty straightforward: there’s no dropper, no cartridge to worry about, and no need to take it under the tongue.
Instead, CBD pain cream is simply meant to be applied directly to the skin.
But some users are concerned about how much they should use; after all, dosage is generally something that’s emphasized in the CBD industry.
In the case of topical CBD, however, determining your dosage isn’t as crucial, since the CBD application is so localized.
Generally, a good rule of thumb for CBD cream is to use enough that will absorb into your skin without residue.
This is a good rule of thumb for most CBD creams, but CBD pain creams may come with a bit more guidance. Some brands package their products with a pump, and may offer instructions as to how many to dispense, but this is the most specific it gets.
And when applying your CBD pain cream, it’s of course helpful to apply directly onto the problem area, like your shoulders when they’re tense.
It’s generally recommended to give the cream some time to work, but you can re-apply every 3-4 hours as needed.
Finally, most CBD pain creams will probably list this in their packaging, but it’s still worth mentioning: CBD pain creams are for external use only, and should never be orally ingested!

How long does CBD pain cream last?

The effects of CBD pain cream varies with the amount, how much is applied, and the way your body reacts to it. But generally, you can expect a CBD pain cream to work between 2-6 hours.
